Draft Program
DRAFT PROGRAM DETAILS
We kept the below draft beers as the 4 CORE draft mandates.
If you do not have any draft lines, the below will be your package mandates.
1. Bud Light
2. Blue Moon
3. Modelo Especial
4. Michelob Ultra
5. The 5th draft handle option needs to be an IPA LEADER by region.
Each region will be able to select from 3 Regional IPA Leaders and 3 National IPA Leaders.
6/7. The 6th and 7th draft handle option needs to be a REGIONAL MARKET DRIVER.
Each region will be able to select from SEASONAL, AMBER/RED/DARK and LAGER/PALE categories.
Similar to the IPA Leaders, there will be Regional and National options in each category.
8. The 8th handle option needs be another IPA LEADER.
Draft Beer Best Practices
Merchandising Draft Beer Towers
- Put the craft or local beers on the draft tower closest to the entry of the bar. These are predominantly the highest net return draft beers and should be in the guest’s initial line of sight.
- When draft towers have both high and low net return beers, ensure that the low-margin beers are located in the middle of the tower, flanked with high-margin beers. Again, this will allow the guest’s eyes to view the premium selections before the lower price-point offerings.
Package Program
PACKAGE PROGRAM DETAILS
As mentioned, if you do not have draft lines, the 4 CORE beers must be your CORE package mandates.
We transitioned from 7 core and 5 expanded package beer and seltzers to 10 CORE and 7 EXPANDED package beers and seltzers.
Seltzers have transitioned from 3 core and 5 expanded, to 2 core and 1 expanded. Flavors are no longer mandated to allow units to purchase flavors that best fit the market and guest preference.
Please reference your Regional Market Drivers, as you build out your packaged beer program.
Package Beer Items Best Practices
- All bar coolers should be operating from 34°F – 38°F.
- Routine cleaning of the door gaskets and vent and/or filter are necessary.
- Bar coolers with glass doors must have operating lights to merchandise the product selections.
- Packaged beer is fully stocked, fronted and faced at opening, shift change and closing.
- Every packaged beer sold is present for guests to view.
